Is it acceptable to have a White Gold ring, commitment, and a silver Wedding Ring?
The Engagement Ring white gold would Cut Solitaire 1.5K cushion, and the wedding ring is silver with Yellow Gold around the ring. Can you mix silver and white gold standing out too? Thank you. Our partnerships wedding would be found. We saw an Arts Festival and really liked them. I have not bought yet. I was thinking of going white gold all the way until we saw these rings. Only concerned about mixing metals.
Silver is a softer metal than white gold so if you plan to use the two together, there is a risk that the white gold (which is an alloy of yellow gold and other metal) damage silver and a white gold is more difficult. What I would do is get the Silver Ring to wear when want to use only a Wedding Band … and a white Gold Band to wear when you want to use both solitary and wedding band …… many women (myself included) have multiple bands they change out depending on where they are going and what they are doing …. .. be careful in Silver Rings, tho …. that touch of gold can be vermeil, a thin layer Gold always fades in time …. can achieve the same look with bands that are white and yellow gold. As for the mix metals, why not? Those who poo-poo that are too anal or metal / jewelry snobs ….. I have two matching platinum and Diamond Eternity bands often sandwich from one of my solitary, even those yellow gold, Gold White looks sharp IMO.Most today is Rhodium Plated so it doesn; not even seem real white gold, but pound fine white Gold Real silver is a pale silver gray, no Natural White mirror shine of silver. Not even typical polish until they shine silver. So if you occasionally use the solo with the band of sterling will not damage issue … and rings look good together.
