Each cell produces about half a volt so each panel I produced allowed me to run 18 volts. These are very fragile though and easily damaged so careful handling is required. It is best to have these cells with tabs when purchased to save costs and soldering time. I opted to use smaller cells. However, it is a fact that using bigger cells produces more power. I decided to stick with my homemade solar panel plan though because bigger solar cell panels could be large and heavy which I was trying to avoid. An error-proof homemade solar panel plan should remember though that mixing big and small panels is not a good idea.
