Where will I get more for my moneys worth when buying a platinum ring?
I have heard high street shops charge excessive amounts but then where should I get the Ring From? Has anybody purchased one from somewhere where you get good value for your money?
platinum is more precious and rare than gold, hence the high price tag. there are pros and cons. the main one is that while platinum is stronger than gold, it scratches more easily, leaving the band dull looking. also, gold, when scratched, flakes away where with platinum, that doesn’t happen. if say the prongs are hit hard enough, platinum will “displace” but you will not lose any metal. if your girl wants a white metal ring, my suggestion would be to have the Diamond Set in a platinum setting (platinum prongs are stronger, make the diamond more secure) and go with a White Gold band. you get security in knowing that her diamond will not easily come loose, and the ability to have it easily polished when it needs a spruce-up.
