How do I safely clean my pave Wedding Band?
Apparently, pave settings are fragile and cleaning can cause the stone to become loose from it’s setting.
I have read on different sites not to use a sonic cleaner (the constant shaking can loosen the stone), immersing it in water, or using a toothbrush to clean it.
Then how the heck am I suppose to clean it?
I’d soak it in the small basket suspended in soapy cleaning solution (the kind you get in a jewelry cleaning kit) and gently swish it back and forth to dissolve and remove the bigger debris and congealed gunk in the setting. Let it sit for half an hour or so. Then very gently use the small soft brush that comes with the kit to lift off the rest of the grime.
A toothbrush is a bad idea because you’re scrubbing, and the bristles are way too hard.
Rinse off the soapy solution in the sink with the drain closed and holding the ring under running warm water. Then gently rub/blot it dry so it shines again.
