Would an explosion destroy gold and diamond?
Hi.
I am writing a story about a plane crash, and I wanted to know for sure before I included it in my story.
Would an explosion following a plane crash destroy, damage or not harm an Engagement Ring, made of gold with a diamond?

depends on the heat and force of the explosion and collisions. Gold is a relatively soft metal with a relatively low melting point, so if it is directly exposed to the heat, it may warp a little bit. If it were on someone’s finger, and the person were to be okay, it would definitely burn marks on the finger, and may even fuse to the skin.
