Is it possible to hold a function in a holiday rental house?
I want to rent a house on the NSW coast to have a casual wedding in. I contacted on real estate agent who said that they wouldn’t allow any functions in any of their holiday properties.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
It all depends on the renter. Few places allow functions at rental homes, with a separate deposit for damages. It’s usually quite expensive like $5,000, but their doing it to cover their property and their liability. If someone falls down the stairs or if there’s a fire and someone get injured, then the home owner will be held liable, not the renter. I would ask about a seperate deposit, or insurance. That might convince them to rent it out.
