What is the best way to clean a white gold Engagement Ring at home?
Im looking to clean up my engagement ring…there is some dirt caught in underneath the stone and Im wondering if there is any safe, home products that I could steep it in to bring it back to its original shine and remove the dirt.

A simple solution you can use at home ( and that we recommend in our jewelry store ) is a solution of 1 part sudzy ammonia, 1 part simple green and 1 part hot water. Let the ring soak several minutes (longer for stubborn dirt) to loosen any debris/grease/oil then scrub with an old toothbrush ( do NOT use toothpaste ) Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft paper towel. You can also use a rouge cloth occasionally (after the ring is dry) for the setting itself to give it a light polish.
Btw, white gold does not tarnish. However, often times it is Rhodium Plated to make it whiter ( NOT because it is Yellow Gold underneath! ) The nickel ( the alloy that is added to create white gold ) is not as white a metal as rhodium. However there are manufacturers that are now marketing a white gold that does not need rhodium plating.
